How do I start using Koolred Mobile?

You will be able to access Koolred Mobile by opening the browser on your phone and typing the following address into your phone's web browser: m.koolred.com.

Why does the mobile version of Koolred look different than the website?

The mobile version has been designed to be used by a wide variety of phones that frequently have small screens and Internet browsers which do not have the same capabilities as a desktop browser. The mobile version of Koolred has features that are most often used by mobile phones users.

Do I use the same Koolred account to login?

Yes, you can use the same email and password you use to access www.koolred.com to login your Koolred account using your phone.

How much will it cost me to browse Koolred from my phone?

Koolred Mobile service is free. However, your mobile service provider might charge you for data services for using Koolred Mobile. Please check with your mobile service provider if you have any questions before using our service.

What kind of phone do I need? What are the minimum requirements?

In order to access Koolred mobile, you must have a compatible mobile phone that can access the Internet. Your phone will need to meet these requirements:

  1. Your web browser needs to be XHTML compliant.
  2. Your web browser must have cookies enabled, and your mobile network should allow cookies to be set. The setting for cookies is usually located in your device's browser settings.
  3. Your mobile service provider should allow secure SSL traffic (HTTP secure).

What are the available features in Koolred Mobile?

  • Browse the profiles of Redsters located near you and send them a message
  • Browse your profile and all your friends' profiles
  • Read and reply your private messages and pending friend requests
  • Upload photos and videos
  • Watch and comment on your friends' photos and videos
  • See if any of your friends are currently nearby
  • Read and write travel reviews
  • View travel advisors, travel hosts and travel buddies
  • The Blog, Group, Event and Forum section is currently not available on Koolred Mobile. For a complete set of Koolred features, please visit www.koolred.com from your computer. If you'd like to change your Koolred profile picture or block a user, you can only do so through a computer.

    How do I change my Koolred login password?

    You can change the password by logging into www.koolred.com using a computer, and visiting the Me! Page. Go to the My Profile section and you will be able to change it under the Account Settings tab.

    I have sign in problems.

    Please check if your phone meets the minimum requirements. You can try to clear the mobile browser cache and sign in again. Make sure your phone is not locked on uppercase letters, as the password is case sensitive. If you have forgotten your password, go to the 'Forgot Password' link on the Koolred login to complete your password retrieval process.

    How do I upload photos from my phone to Koolred Photo?

    Photo upload feature has been disabled because photo uploading depends on the browser's ability to access the phone's file system which might not be supported by all phones and mobile browsers. You can opt to upload photos via email.

    • Login at m.koolred.com and get your unique email from here
    • Attach your photo in the email and send it to the unique email
    • The photo will be uploaded on Koolred
    • Don't forget to type the title of your photo album in the subject line of the email

    How do I upload videos from my phone to Koolred Video?

    Video upload feature has been disabled because video uploading depends on the browser's ability to access the phone's file system which might not be supported by all phones and mobile browsers. You can opt to upload videos via email.

    • Login at m.koolred.com and get your unique email from here
    • Attach your video in the email and send it to the unique email
    • The video will be uploaded on Koolred
    • Don't forget to type the title of your video in the subject line of the email

    What is the 'Where are you?' in my Me! page?

    Adding a location to the Kool Map in your profile will let your friends know where you are. You can also see where your friends are on the map and contact them by sending them a private message.

    How do I update my current location?

    You can update your current location details by going to Me! and click 'Update' next to the Where are you? Your phone will attempt to automatically locate your current location using GPS. You can click 'Save' to register yourself to the location captured by your GPS or click 'Ignore' to update the location yourself.

    My phone either does not have GPS or is unable to detect the GPS signal, how can I set my location?

    You can set your location by typing in the name of the location in the 'Where are you?' field. Click 'Save' once you are done.

    I tried to key in this location but a pop up appears and says 'Invalid Location'?

    You can set your location by typing in the name of the location in the 'Where are you?' field. Click 'Save' once you are done.

    How do I hide my location?

    You can change the setting by logging into www.koolred.com using a computer, and visiting the Me! Page. You will be able to change it under the 'Where are you?' field. You may either allow everyone or only your friends permission to view your Kool Map.

    Upload by email

    How to upload photos/videos via email?

    Upload by email feature allows Redsters to attach photos and videos in an email attachment and send the photos and videos direct to your Koolred profile.

    You can upload from your Outlook, mobile devices or anything that can send out an email.

    Follow these simple steps:

    1. Get your unique email from www.koolred.com/mobile or 'Upload photo' page in m.koolred.com
    2. Go to your email and attach the photos or video that you want to upload
    3. The email subject will be the title of your photo album or video
    4. Send that email
    5. You will receive an email notification that the email has been sent
    6. The photo album or video will appear in your Koolred profile shortly
    7. The time it takes for your photos or videos to upload varies on the number of photos, video file size, type of email provider and Internet connectivity
    8. Privacy settings of the photo album and video depend on your default Profile Privacy Settings. You can only change the settings of each album on the site itself

    Where do I get the unique email?

    Please visit www.koolred.com/mobile from your computer to get your unique email. Your unique email also can be viewed at the 'Upload photo' page when using m.koolred.com. You can use that email whenever you want to upload photos and videos. Please do not share your unique email with anyone.

    My super secret unique email is not so secret anymore.

    If your unique email was compromised, go to the full site at www.koolred.com/mobile to generate a new unique email by clicking 'Generate new email' button. The new unique email can also be generated at the 'Upload photo' page when using m.koolred.com. The previous email will be rendered unusable.

    What is the upload limit for photos and videos?

    You can upload photos and videos 25MB in total for each email.

    What kind of image and video files can I upload?

    For images, please upload only .gif, .jpg or .png files.

    For videos, please upload only .wmv, .avi, .mov, .mpeg, mpg, mp4, divx, .flv and .ogg files.
